Resizing video

Well, all i have is the free version of quicktime and im trying to compress a video i have. What program is free that i could use?

Im assuming thats why it wont let me put it in the video forum, its in quicktime format as of now.

yea im pretty sure i am, video is only 4.78mb. Just says video failed to upload every time.
